MANAGEMENT POSITIONS
Job Title: Shift Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: General Manager
Payroll Status: Exempt (salary)
Summary
Assists with managing a restaurant within the policies and guidelines of the company by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned. In the absence of, and along with
the General Manager or the Assistant Manager.
Takes direction for the General Manager and Assistant Managers
along with all Operational Management team members.
Assists in directing, coordinating, and participating in
preparation of, and cooking, of food served or prepared by
establishment; collection of monies from drive thru- or walk-up
customers; or assembly of food orders for Guests.
Assists in managing
day-to-day operations by scheduling labor, ordering food and
supplies and developing the restaurant team.
Assists in ensuring all labor laws (federal, state and local),
OSHA, local health and safety codes and company safety, security
and cash handling policies are met.
Assists in
controlling profit and loss by following cash controls. security
procedures, maintenance of proper inventory levels and managing
labor..
Has input into performance appraisals and takes appropriate
disciplinary actions.
Assists in ensuring complete and timely execution of corporate and local marketing programs.
Assists in ensuring Company standard on equipment, facility and grounds are maintained by use of preventative maintenance programs.
Assists in ensuring food quality, facility cleanliness and customer satisfaction is consistently met or exceeded.
Supervisory Responsibilities
In the absence of the
General Manager or the Assistant Manager, supervises 3+ Crew
members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance
with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; assigning, and
directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Is available for Monday thru Sunday scheduling, and any hours
open to close. Work week is a minimum of 5 days and no more then
40 hours. Manager must have own transportation. Reasonable

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of Guests or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
Basic
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Drivers License, ServSafe or similar certification where necessitated by law.
Other Skills and Abilities
Cash register and
restaurant "Back of the House" systems experience preferred.
